DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL
The adjournal meeting of the Committee of the above Institution was held in the Council Chambers, on Thursday the 12th '"present, Mews Jones, in the Chair, Hazlett Naylor, M'Connocbie, Reck, Hueston, Grindley, Fache, Hastie, and 11. Barlow, .Secretary. The minute* of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The visiting-Committee's'" Report was road and received. The suggestions contained in the report, were considered in order with the following result. 1. A Bath House, including a clothesroom, was ordered to be erected ; the cost of same not to exceed £."50. 2. The Hospital and furniture to be insured in the Victoria Insurance Office in the sum of £2OOO, at the rate of 17s Cd per £IOO. ;{. That the necessary steps be taken to appoint Trustees of the Institution, in whose names the Insurance be effected. Proposed by Mr. Griudloy, seconded by Mr. Hazlett,-" That the Secretary write | to the Resident .Surgeon, drawing his atteu j tioii to Rule 32, and requesting his conipli- I ance with the same." Carried. The following tenders for supplies &c. for ! the ensuing quarter were read and accepted. Groceries.-J. Hazlett and Co. : Tea, per lb. 2s 5d ; Sugar, hrown.'Gd ; white sugar, 7d ; Wellington Butter, Is. 41. ; Rice, sd. Oatmeal, 4d. ; Flour. Adelaide, GOs. per ba;; Starch, (id. per 11). ; Coffee, Is sd. Candles, Is per 11). ; SaIUKJd. ; Pepper, Is. [icr ll>. ; Soap, Gd. ; Arrowroot Is 2d. peril.. ; Mustard, Is. 2d. ; Soda, 2Jd. ; Kcrosine, 4s. '.ld. per gall. ; Medical Comforts,—Port wine, 15s. per gall. ; Sherry, i 15s. per gall. ; Hum, 13s. Gl. ; Whiskey, . Ids. ; Brandy, 23s : do, per case G2s. Gd. ; Alo, English, 17s per do/.. ; Porter, 17s. do.. Milk—James Deans, 3d. per crnart. | Colfins.--J. W. Cambridge, £2 ss. each. Bread—J. Hastie, Is. Gdd. per 41J. loaf. Meat—W. Grindley, Beef. Mutton and Lamb, with and without bone, Bd. per lb. Burials-W. Wells, £1 10s. each. The Secretary signified there were no print ed rules of the Institution, and suggested that some shoul I be printed. A lengthy discussion ensued ; the advisability of revising the present rules being raised, ultimately, it was adopted on the motion of Mr. Grindley, seconded by Mr. Hueston, '• That a sub-committee, be appointed to examine the existing rules and report on the same at the next monthly meeting, such Committee to consist of Messrs Robinson, Christophers and Fache. Proposed by Mr, Hueston, seconded by Mr. Naylor,—" That the Secretary write to the Committees of the Wakatip and Lawrence Hospitals, asking of them to send ;t copy of their rules, and for other information respecting the working of the Institutions." Carried. A vote of thanks to the Chair, concluded the proceedings.
