In the "Provincial Government Gazstte" of the 26th February, wo notice, are published the Rules and Regulations of the Alexandra Cemetery, and that the following gentlemen are appointed managers :—Messrs. We extract the following from a Proclamation under the hand of his Honor the Superintendent, which appears in the " Provincial Government Gazette " of the 2Gth February.—"On and after the 25t'i day of February, all those surveyed areas of land misol I, and situate within the Towns of Clyde, Alexandra, and Cromwell, are Oj en for sale or selection in sections of the size and form in which such lands respectively have been surveyed, and as are aid oil' and delineated on the map relating thereto. Mr. Jones hail resided in the lexandra District for the past four years, during which time he was engaged in mining; he and his party constructed the first water-race on the west bank of the Molyneux, since when, a dozen other races hive been successful'y completed, and their waters brought to bear on the many points and banks of the Molyneux, richly remunerating their owner.;. 'I he usual fortnightly meeting of the Clyde Town Council lapsed for want of a quorum.

A meeting of the Clyde School Com mittce was held in the School-house, j on Friday evening last, the 28th ult. \ Present, Messrs Hazlett, Barlow, George, Hastie, and A Christophers, Hon. Clerk.—Mr. Hazlett in the Chair. ' fter the minutes of the last meeting had keen road and confirmed the Schoolmaster’s monthly report was read and received ; the report recommended the formation of a Sewing Class, and expressed Mrs. Clarke’s willingness to undertake the duties. The visiting committee r<) ci ted that during the month, they had visited the mas'er’s re.-idence and school-house, had supplied a desk to the latter, and recommended that Mr. Hurston’s tender of £7, for addition and repairs to Master’s house, and Mr. Auckland’s tender of £~) for painting ic. he accepted. Proposed by Mr. Christophers, seconded by Mr. Barlow, and carried, That the report of the visiting committee be received and adopt, ed Schoolmaster’s account, twenty one shillings, for School books sup plied, was pissed for payment. Proposed by Mr. Hastie, seconded by Mr. Barlow, —That Mr. George be request ed to write to Mr. Logan, asking him to deliver a Lecture on his next visit to Clyde in ai l of the School funds Carried.
