DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
(To tiie Editor of the Duxstah Times. ) Sir, —A short time ago I was allowed to have a letter insarted in your columns respecting the ball held at the Kawarau Gorge for the benelit of the above institution. In that letter I complained of the want of publicity of the result of the said entertainment, and I now, for the second time, ask for " facts and figures." A letter appeared in your columns stating that matters were settled, excepting two tickets unpaid for"at Clyde. Of this fact I am positive—shabbiness does not exist on Clyde, and the two tickets unaccounted for would, beyond all doubt, bo paid for at once if the person who had them for sale were to be applied to. From reliable information I have received no fu;ther contributions will be made towards the funis of the Hospital by the residents of tbe Kawarau Gorge until a debtor and creditor account of the ren'.ilt of the ball in question shall have appeared in the columns of the "Dunstan Times." Our respected townsman Mr. Christophers was one of the Stewards of the ball, and Mr. Badger, of Cromwell, was another, and as a matte:- of justice 11 the public and of interest, to the hospital I respectfully solicit from one or the other of the gentlemen referred to a full and correct account of the "benefit." The short-coming of non-accounting, I am credibly informed, docs no' rest with any otic residing at the Kawarau Gorge, and therefore the negligence of not satisfying the charitably-disposed by publishing* the amount realised by the ball must be, and eventually will be, traced to some person or persons residing in some oilier locality. I am, kc, A FIUEXD TO THE HOSPITAL. Clyde, Jad. 2fl, ISGB.
