CLYDE SCHOOL.
The usual Christmas examination of children attending the Clyde School, took place on Wednesday, the 28th ult. forty-three pupils were in attendance, also a large num her of visitors and friends of the children. The youngsters were all drest in their best, and nothing could be more gratifying, than the sight of so many juveniles in glowing health and spirits. The examination of the classes, which showed considerable efficiency in the various branches of education having concluded, the Rev. Mr. Ross, after passing a high eulogium upon the discipline of the School, and the proficiency of the Scholars, proceeded with the distribution of prizes, as follows ; Advanced reading Class.— Girls. Ist. Prize ; Maria Kettelty, second Prize, Mary Jane Hastie; third Prize, Margaretta Alldridge. Boys. Ist. Piize; William Hastie ; second Piize, George Hastie ; third Prize, Alfred George fourth Prize, John Finn ; fifth Prize, W. J. Wells. Senior Seiies Class.—Girls. Mrrgaret Noble, ' • ....,.• Boys. First Prize, Percy George ; second Prize, William Chadwick ; third Prize, Geo Marshall. Junior Series Class.—Girls. First Prize, Margaret Hastie ; second Prize, Agnes Miller ; Ellen M'Connochie and Elizabeth M' Pherson, equal; third Prize, Amelia Hop-
