INSPECTOR OF NUISANCES.
TO THK EDITOR OF THE WJSSTAN S. TIMES Sir,—l learn with much surprise, that the Council has instructed the Inspector of Nuisances to insult the ex-Mayor by orderiiu; him to “ move on ” with his horse and kuggy,/which was but temporarily standing in Sunderland Street a few days ago, The Inspector of Nuisances, I learn, has received instructions to proceed under the i’olice Ordinance, and not under the Bye Laws. It seems strange that a gentleman in the position of the ex-Mayor if Clyde should bo selected by the Council as an object of their spleen, for so trivial an offence when it is notorious, a would he leading member of that body is constantly in the habit at driving, without interference, num bors of horses furiously, and without control through the street,, to the danger of the lives of both children and adults; and farther, the same member of Council is allowed to deposit, and keep keep on his premises a large heap of offensive manure. 1 have suggested to the ex-Mayor, that lie should follow the example of a once Mayor of Melbourne, and import a Donkey for his buggy, but, he declines, on the ground, that 1 hero are already a host of donkeys in the Town Council of Clyde. I am, RATEPAYER. Clyde, 2nd De 0.'1867.
