■ The usual fort, iehtlv nicotine of the Town Council was held at the Council Chambers, on-Tuesday, the 2fith D. M'Pherson Esi. Mayor, and full Council, present. The minutes of the ..previous meetings were read and confirmed. Inward and outward correspondence road and received. The following letter, as sent, to J. D.. Peraud Esn. was read and received. "To J. D. Feraud, Esq., J.P., Monte Ohresto Farm, Clyde. Sin, —I have the honor to inform you, that a resolution was passed in Coun ;il, (in 'the 15th day of November inst., whereby, I was ordered to convey to you the thanks of the Municipal Council of Clyde, for the enemy and perseverance display d by you as late Mayor of the Incorporated Town of Clyde, in initiating' and carrying out the affairs of the Corporation, durini your time of office, and that a minute to that effect is recorded on the books of the Municipality. I have the honor to be, *>ir, Yours obediently, L. W. Carter. Town Clerk." Proposed by Couneillor Cambridco seconded by Councillor Goodwin, That the fur ther consideration of a letter from the Secretary of Land and works, respecting encroachments on Sunderland Street, do stand over till the next fortnightly meeting. M'Connoehio seconded by Councillor Cambridge,—That a rate of one shilling in the pound, as the assessment allowed'by this Council bo declared, an 1 be levied in accordance with the Municipal Ordinance. Carried. The Town Clerk was instructed to authorise the Inspector of Nuisances to carry out the suggestions as contained in his report. Proposed by Or.
