To a certain extent, I cannot do other than agr e with "Prosperity's" reasonins, that a gentleman from his position in bu;incss, and at the same time having the entire oonldence of the Ratepayers, shou'd be returned as Mayor. Sir, I am proud to see thatW. 1,. Bailey, Es'*., has acceded to the request of a larcre and inHu ni-.1 requisition asking him to allow himself to be nominated to the lush position, Mr. Bailey h.-s not only attained a hi'jh position ill th's district, but taking into consideration his thorough knowledge of Ihe working of Municipal InstHui'ons, ?f> ; ned through direct and close connection w'Hi them bo'h in England and Victoria, C'vde m-glit to b> proud and rejoic that he has allowed himself to be brought forward as a candidate fnr the vacant honor. It hj <o be hov.ed the Ratepayers will duly re'ii'-n him. and, if so, 1 am confident the business of the Council will be conducted to the entire srfc'sfaction of one and all.
