Bradshaw has been sent down by the General Government to examine and verify the Gold Fields accounts. Messrs Baird and M'Kay have appointments. The subsidies for Hospitals and will be sent immediately. The Provincial Government is expected to take the Delegated Poweison the Ist > oveuiber. The Superintendent will make a tour of the Gold Fields. The track to the West Coast, via Lake Wanaka will be speedily made. A man and his son, named "White, suspected of the murder at Switzor, have been arrested. It will depend entirely upon circumstances whether the Puke ot Edinburgh will visit Otago. Wellington and Auckland being only mentioned in his programme.
