A Coroners Inquest was hold on I the body of a man supposed to have I been murdered near Switzers diggings The Jury after considerable deliberation, returned a verdict of wilful murder against some person or persons unknown. A man named William | Shepherd alias " Billy Nuts " has been arrested on suspicion. Two other J men, a father and .son. named White I are also suspected ; the police are on I their tracks, and it is to be hoped to j clear up the mystery, they will soon i be caught. On Wednesday evening last a mectI ing was hold in the Church of Eng- | land for the purpose of electing a. Presbyterian Church Committee. .Mi-. W. Fraser, who occupied the Chai-, stated the business of the meeting and called upon IV. C. Shaw to read a report prepared by the retiring committee. The report gave a concise account of the acts of the past committee, also a financial statement, showing a balance to their credit in the Bank

A veto to the chair concluded the proceedings. The Choir, who were present, sang in very good time several sacred pieces. In noticing the Choir, we cannot but mete to Mr. Spenseley, their loader, an amount of praise, he so richly do serves for the. successful manner he has carried out Ids idea of forming a Choir.
