RESIGNATION OF MAYOR.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES. Sis, —lu your valuable paper of the 4th inßt., I see, from tho minutes of the usual fortnightly meeting of the Town Council of Clyde, the Mayor has tendered his resignation as chairman of that incorporated body. The subject, having received mature consideration of the Council, has been duly accepted, and the result, of course, aill be another election for Mayor. It f3 to be hoped the ratepayers will not wink at this most important question, "Who is to be Mayor?" and leave the matter simply in the hands of a few to decide ; btit that one and till will stir themselves up at once, and endeavour to place a man that, from his position in business, must have a desire to enhance the future prosperity of Clyde and surrounding districts. lam, &c, Prosperity. Clyde, 30th Oct., 13G7.
