PRACTICE IN THE RESIDENT MAGISTRATES’ AND WARDENS’ COURTS.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE DUN STAX TIMES. Sin,—l think it is really high time that some alteration should he made in the inode of prac! lice in the conduct of cases in the Resident Magistrate’s and Warden’s Courts at Clyde. First. The practice of allowing pretending attorneys or “ hush lawyers" to conduct cases in these Courts should he discontinued. Secondly. That such would-hc attorneys or hush lawyers should uot he permitted such audacious scope (that no properly qualified attorney would assume) while conducting cases n the said Courts. Thirdly. The gentlemen holding Her Majesty’s commission, and residing in the neighborhood* should at reasonable periods put in an appear, mice on the Bench and assist the Resident Magistrate. Fourthly. I think the district is quite capable of supporting a properly qualified legal practitioner, and were the mock attorneys and bush lawyers not permitted to practice some such qualified person would soon find it worth his while to come and reside at Clyde. Trusting that you will give this publicity in your valuable paper, I anv, &c., CITIZEN. Clyde, October 1, ISOT.
