CLYDE SCHOOL.

A meeting of the Committee of the Clyde School was held at the School-house on Friday evening last. Present: Messrs. M'Phcraon, George, M'Connochic, Christophers, Hastic, and Dr. Shaw. Dr. Shaw occupied the. chair. The minutes of_thc last meeting were read and confirmed. The Schoolmaster's Monthly rojpori and also

the Report of the Visiting Committee were read and received. The Treasurer reported that the sale of tickets for the Lecture by Mr. J. Hay amounted to £ll ; expenses, £1 4s, A vote of thanks was recorded to Mr. Hay for his lecture in aid of the Schoi 1 funds. Accounts to the amount of £4 4s. were passed for payment, Proposed by Sir. M'Pherson, seconded by Mr. Christophers, and carried, That, as the term for which Mr. Harvey rents Mr. Cope's late residence expires on the 12th of August, the Secretary be requested to give Mr. Harvey notice to quit on or before that date, and that the Visiting Committee be empowered to let to j him the house at present occupied by the Master provided they deem fit to do so. The Visiting Committee were requested to visit the garden, and report at a future meeting whether it would be advisable to dispose of any of the trees, shrubs, &c. The meeting then adjourned. An adjourned meeting of the Committee was held at the Bendigo Hotel on Wednesday, the the 31st nit. Present: Dr. Shaw, in the chair ; Messrs. George, Hastie, M'Pherson, Hazlett, M'Connochie, and Christophers. The Visiting Committee reported that they had visited the garden, in company with the Schoolmoster, and found there were no plants, shrubs, &c, worth selling. Proposed by Mr. Hustic, seconded by Mr. Oeorge, and carried, That the Schoolmaster be allowed to have, under Hie Supervision of the Visiting Committee, possession, use, and control of the house and garden lately belonging to Mr. Cope, provided the same are not reduced in value by the sale of trees, plants, &c. The usual vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting.
