TOWN COUNCIL.

CLYDE.' A special meeting was held at the Councij OLamberj, mi Saturday evening the Sth inst. The Mayor, and full Council were present. Proposed by Councillor Cambridge, seconded by Councillor M'Connochie,—"That Messrs Hazlott and Cope in company with Mr W. Fras:rM. P. C. for the Pnnstan District do form a deputation, and waft on His Honor the Superintendent, praying that His Honor will take into favorable consideration the petition from Clyde in the matter of building a jail 4c. "—Carried. Proposed by Councillor Cambridge,— " That mMr Coubrough the tenant of the Town Hall, has applied for a--Publican's License the Council on behalf of the citizens do object to th same."—Seconded by Councillor M,Conuochi and carried; The meeting terminated with the usual vote to the Chair. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Council was held at the Council Chambers on Tuesday evening the 11th inst. Present Mr J. 1). Feraud, Mayor, and Councillors Cambridge, Kyan Goodwin and-M'Coimochie. Minute3of last and special meetings confirmed. Outward and inward correspondence read and received. The accustomed vote to Ac Chair, concluded the proceedings.
