We are given to understand that tha recepti n of Mr. Macandrew by the electors at Cromwt.l o.i Tuesday morning last was most flattering. The show of hands was alnost unanimous in favor. The Mayor and a portion of the in habitants escorted Mr. Macandrew some distance on his way back to Clyde. Mr. Macandrew addresed the electors a< Alexandra on Monday evening. He met with a vary cordial reception. On Tuesday evening last a meeting of the supporters of Mr. Thomas Dick was held at the Clyde Hotel, for the purpose of forming a committee to work on behalf of that gentleman. We refer our readers to our advertising column or the list of names.

Mr. William Fraser, of Earnfscleaugh Station, to whom a numerously signed requisition waa presented, asking him to become a candidate for the representation of theDunstan district in the Provincial Council, has intimated his intention of f cceeding to the request. His address will appear in our next issue. We are requested to state that Captain Baldwin, the Member for the Manuherikia district, has re signed his seat in the General Assembly. A further notification will appear,. It is understood that Mr. Mouat will present himself to the electors. It will be seen by our advertising columns that a photographer, in the person of Mr. A- '• Rich, late of Boston, United States, will visit the Dunstan shortly, for the purpose of taking views and portraits. Mr. William Fuller, one of the candidates for the representation of the goldfields, addressed the electors at Ryan's Bendigo Hotel, Clyde, on Tuesday evening last Mr. Fuller was well received, and made a very satisfactory address, but, on account of the pressure upon our space, we are unable to publish particulars. On the roll of electors for the Province, under which the new Superintendent and Council have to be elected, there are 7277 names.
