FEBRUARY.
Kitchen Harden.—lf any operation recommended for last month remain unfinished, they must be no longer delayed. vlake the last sowing of Turnips for the season early in the month. Sow earl; oabbage on a cool, shaded spot; also curlw Greens and Spinach. The growth oRhubarb will be greatly streng hened b\ a top dressing of short manure bcin;. placed over the roots, and a little guan> applied during moist weat er will weli r«pay the outlay. Two or three leaves ought to be left on each Rhubarb plant, as too bare cutting tends to weaken the plan's. Fruit Garden*.—Trained trees will require attention, fee that the ties of grafts are all removed. 1 kin raspberry canes, to admit light - and air to those in tended for bearing next season. Flower Garden.—Dahlias and Hollyhocks will require strict attention as to staking and watering. A good mulching of manure placed over their roots will prevent evaporation, and produce rapid growth. Propogate by cutting the Petunea, Verbena, Calceolaria Geranium, Antirrhinum, Fuchsia, Agreratum, Ac. Roses may still be budded, and cuttings of the China and v oisette class will root freely if put into a cool shaded spot. Keep the green fly in check by frequent ayringeing. Set cuttings of Scarlet and other Geraniums- Renew old Geraniums by shaking tho soil completely away from tbeir roots • and repotting them in small sized pots in rather poor, light soil; set them under glass uniil they have started into growth again.
