The Council held their usual fortni<di% meeting in the School-room, on Wednesday, the 2nd instant. '1 he Mayor, and ull Council present. The minutes of the previous meeting, Having been read and confirmed, a letterwas read from the Commissioner of ' olice, informing the Council, of the appointment, of an inspector of nuinnces, \ letter ws also read, from Mr Bailey, as agent for Mr Brown, the successful tenderer for the own Hall, demanding £76 as cnnpensatiou, for loss sustained in the delav of the completion of the Building. The letter was not received.

Proposed by ' ouncillor Marsh—"That the sum of £IOO, be voted for the formation of toot-paths, and repair njr M,.l more Street, eco ded by Councillor Kidd, and carried.
