DUNSTAN JOCKEY CLUB.
A meeting of the Jockey Club Committee, was held on Monday evening, the 3rd inst., at the Clyde Hotel. Present, Messrs Fraser, Glassford, Grindley, Barry, M'Pherson, Hazlett, Smitham, and M'Moran. * The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The following members were duly proposed and seconded—Messrs Samuel Indus, of Hill's Creek, and Joseph Beal of Waikouaiti. Tenders for renting the Horse Paddock were opened as follows—Thomas Hannon, LS 10s. ; William Wells, LG ; John Brown, L 4 -Is. The tender of Thomas Hannon was accepted. Tenders for the Grand Stand were then disposed of, viz.—James Paterson, for tho whole, Stand and three Booths, 71; Gibbs & Hawthorne, do., L 55 ; W. R. George, do., L 52 lUs ; E. G. ' Ryan, Booths No. 1 and 2, L 25 ; G. Wylde, Booth No. 1, HI; Gibbs and Hawthorne," do, Llo ; Peter Calder, for Booth No. 3, for refreshments without the sale of spirituous liquors L 5. The tender of Mr James Paterson was accepted. Mr Cambridge's tender for LS 10s for supplying post, &c, was accepted. Nominations were received for the Dunstan Jockey Club Handicap Races. Dunstan Jockcy Club Handicap—John Cox's b.g. Harkaway, aged ; J. G. Glassford's b.g. Allander, 4 years ; J. G. Glassford's b.g. Rambler, aged ; J.'Beal's b.g. Schoolboy, 5 years ; W. Smitham's c.h. Mailboy, aged; W. J. Barry's c.h. Wizard, aged. Steeple Chase Handicap—J. Hazlett's eg Shamrock, aged; H. Glassford's e.g. Dragoon, aged ; J. Cogle's g.m. Coleen Bawn, aged°; W. M. Kinross' b.g. Dan O'Rouke, 4 years ; Ed. Ryan's g.g. Scotch Jock, aged ; W. J. Barrv's g.m. Nelly Grey, aged ; W. A. Low's b.g Paddy aged ; H. Prince's g.g. Garryowen, aged. Messrs R. M'Moran, W. M'Pherson, and \V. Fraser were elected to handicap the horses for the Jockey Handicap and Steeple Chatc, The result of the Handicap was approved. Proposed by Mr Hazlett—"That - meetiagle held that day fortnight, and that all lists be called in, and that the Secretary be instruct* d to write to persons having lists to that effect. The meeting was then adjourned to 5.30 p.m. on the 17th inst., to bo held at the Duustcu Hotel. A vote of thanks to the Chair concluded tho proceedings.
