♦ . TO THE EDITOE OF THE DUNSTAN TIMES. Sir, —A week or two since through the medium of your advertising columns, I find that the Otago Aclimatisation Society have taken every precaution to preserve the native Wild Fowl, and even went to the expense of publishing notices to the effect, that the present time being the "Close Season," it was punishable by law to shoot Wild FowL Now, Sir, I perceived, on Monday last, several of the Camp officials, fully equipped for a day's shooting, ard also saw them cross the Molyneux on the punt, and make off in the direction of the Fraser River. I should like to be informed, by you, how it is that Government servants are allowed to so openly break the law? and whether the public pays them their salaries to enjoy themselves in shooting excursions when they should be attending to their duties? By answering this, you will oblidge. Your obedierit'Servant, Enquirer. Clyde, 2nd October, 1866.
