DUNSTAN DISTRICT HOSPITAL
The usual monthly meeting of the Committee, was held at the Clyde Hotel, on Monday evening last, the 13th inst. Present, Messrs Hazlett, Cope (Secretary), Marshall, Goodwin, Grindley, M'Connichie, Edwards, Cambridge, Hume (Treasurer), Barlow, and Morice. Mr Hazlett occupied the Chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The report of the Finance Committee was read, shewing the expenses for Julv as as £ll3 15s 7d; the report was received and accepted. The Visiting Committee's and Treasurer's reports were read and accepted. Proposed by Mr Edwards, and seconded by Mr Grindley, "That the Secretary purchase a copper boiler and fittings, 200 lbs. white lead, and an assortment of paints and oils, for the use of the Hospital. Carried. Proposed by Mr Grindley, and seconded by Mr Edwards, " i hat the ecretary write to the *t Bathan's Local''ommittee, expressing the thanks of the General Committee, for theexertions made in getting up the late Hospital Bazaar, also thanking the the Ladies and Gentlemen who so kindly rendered so much valuable assistance at the said Bazaar." Carried. Proposed by Mr Grindley " That the Treasurer make a claim on the official Administrator of Intestate Estates for monies due for board, medical attendance, and interment of Matts Scoland, d<ceased." Seconded by .V:r Edwards. Carried. Proposed by Mr Hume " Tha* I Secretary register the two deaths which
occurred during the past month." The Treasurer tendered his resignation which was accepted on the understanding that he retain office until the appoint, ment of his successor. Proposed by Mr Barlow, and seconded . by Mr Edwards " That the Visiting < ommittee dispose of the potatoes on hand to the best advantage. Carried. Proposed by Mr Barlow, "That the "Visiting Committee be empowered to expend the sum of .£5 on the purchase of trees and shrubs." Seconded by Mi Grindley. « arried. The ecretary was desired to advertise a Public Meeting of übscribers, for the election of a Treasurer, vice Mr Hume resigned. Proposed by Mr Edwards, "That tor the future the Committee meetings be held at the Hospital, at 7 o'clock, on the first Wednesday in each month. Seconded by Mr Barlow. Carried. A vote of thanks was unanimously recorded in favour of Mr Simeon Isaacs, the Member for C yde, also to the Hon. ec., Mr Cope, for their exertions in forwarding theintereste of the Hospital. A vote of thanks to the Chair, terminated the meeting.
