Each letter must not exceed half an ounce in weight. 2. Tt mns* be superscribed with the name of the writer, his description or class in the vessel or regiment, and s'gned by the officer at the time in command. 3. The postage must bo pre-paid. Every letter of this description posted orreceived in this colony, not in accordance with the foregoing regulations, will be treated as an-ordinary letter. The postage upon these letters must in all cases he paid in advance. Free Letters. Letters on the public service of Her Majesty's naval and military forces are exempted from the payment of postage, if bearing the words ''On ™"r Majesty's Service," and the signature of the eer in command of the force on the service of which the letter is despatched. j Letters on the public service of the General Government, of the colony are tran>mitted free by . post, if bearing the words " On the Public Service ' oly," and the signature of some officer of the' (eneral Government authorised to frank letters.
