The annual sports were held on Saturday. The following are the results: — Maiden Race, 200 yards.—lst prize, £1 10s, Drower ; 2nd, 15s, Wairoa ; two others started. Boys Race, under 10 years, 100 yards.— Ist prize, 10s, Bailly; 2nd, ss, Mayo; four started. 100 yards.—lst, prize, £1 10s, Murphy ; 2nd, 15s, Flude. Throwing the 161b Hammer.—lst, prize, £1 10s, Dennohay (94ft sin) ; 2nd, 15s, O'Callaghan (92ft B£in). Waipukurau Handicap, three events, 150, 300, and 400 yards. First prize, £8 and cup; second, £4 ; third, £2. Race to be decided by points, to count as follows: — first in each event, 5 points; second, 3 points; third, 2 points. First event, 150 yards. —Ist, M. Lyons (scratch) ; 2nd, C. Knock (5 yards) ; 3rd, T. Murphy (scratch). D. Flude (scratch) also started. Best Bagpipe Player.—lst prize, £2 10s, Crosse; 2nd, £1 ss, Hellam; two others competed. Putting the lGlb stone.—lst prize, £1 10s, O'Callaghan (37ft din) ; 2nd, 15e, Dennehny (37ft) i three others competed. Sack Race.—lst prize, £1, Siddles; 2nd, 10s, Christian. Hop, Step, and Jump.—lst prize, £1 10s, Dryberg (40ft 2nd,* 15s, P. M'Greevy (40ft Sin); five competed. Dancing Highland Fling in costume. — Ist prize, £3, Lockhead; 2nd, £1 10s, Angus ; three others danced. Waipukurau Handicap, second event, 300 yards.—lst, Lyons (scratch); 2nd, Murphy (scratch); 3rd, Knock (7 yards). Running High Leap.—lst prize, £1 10s. Dryberg (4ft loin; 2nd, 15s, M'Greevy; three competed. Hurdle Race, 120 yards, over 10 flights of hurdles 3ft Gin high.—lst prize, £4, P. M'Greevy ; 2nd, £2, C. Young. Boys' Obstacle Race, under 14 years.— Ist prize, £1, Howard; 2nd, 10s, Britten. One Mile Handicap,—lst prize, £7, J. Mooney (60 yards); 2nd, £3, C. Siddles (scratch) ; 3rd, £1 10s, D. Peebles (20 yards), M. Barry (10 yards), H. Barry (scratch), and E. Kemp "(40 yards), also started. Vaulting with Pole.—lst prize, £1 10s, Christian (S feet 3 inches); 2nd, los, Thomson (8 feet 2 iuches). Waipukurau Handicap, third event, 440 yards.—lst, T. Murphy (scratch); 2nd, C. Knock (10 yards) ; 3rd, M. Lyons (3 yards); Flude and Drower also started. Lyons took the Ist prize of £8 and the cup with 12 points, Murphy 2ud prize of £4, with 10 points, and Knock 3rd prize of £2 with 8 points. Half-mile Race.—lst prize, £3, Peebles; 2nd, £2, Murphy ; 3rd, £1, Siddles ; Moran, Keys, M'Greevy, and Young also started.
