December 24. A Spanish-African Society has acquired fifteen square miles territory on tho coa?t of the Gulf of Guinea, West Africa. The territory extends some distance inland from a point opposite Corisco. It is understood that the European Powers have shelved tho proposals recently submitted by the English Cabinet for tho settlement of affairs in Egypt. The Homeward mails via Naples per Orient It.M.S. Gamine, from Melbourne November 15, were delivered here to-day.
