From Unier-Secretary for Lands, stating it was not considered advisable to prosecute A. Smith for making a false declaration. •—Received. . ". , • Prom John James, secretary to the Victoria Small Farm Association, stating holders of sections in the settlement were of opinion that the reserves should be leased, with the exception of the reserve adjoining section 7, -which the settlers thought should bo soldi It was also thqught advisable by the Association that a portion of reserve 19 should be gazetted a site for a public school. —Consideration postponed, the chairman to ascertain whether the Board had ppwer to deal with the unoccupied land in the settlementin the samp manner as they could with Crown lands. From G. Even son, solicitor, under de-
ferred payment system of section 2, block 2 Ruataniwha district, stating he was disappointed at the quality of the land in his section, and requesting that he might be allowed to exchange the section for another, ior may be given a refund of his deposit.— -< Decided to inform Mr Evensen that the Land Act did not make any provision for exchanging one section for another, and that the Board would not recommend a refund of his deposit. He have ascertained the character of the land before making his selection. _ FromW. Ormond, J. Moscn and H. M. Tuna — Applications to take up forfeited deferred payment section 18, block 1X.., Takapau survey district.—Decided to advertise that applications for section 18, block IX. would be received fourteen days after the notice. A number of applictations to transfer sections were ordered .to be advertised. J. Powdrcll's application tor 120 acres in the High School endowment block was approved, as were also -the applications of the Northern Investment Company for 8812 acres in block 4, i, and 8; Waihua district, and 1 and 2, Tamarama. Banger's reports were considered, and ijb was- decided that section 14, block 11, Wooehfille Survey District, be offered for sise by public auetipii at aii upset price Ot 20s per acre, ,
