At the quarterly meeting of the Chamber of Commerce yesterday the president's address was hopeful as to the state of commercial matters in Canterbury. _ A resolution was passed urging a reduction of the railway charges on the LytteltonChristchurch line and in tho grain rates ; also in the duty on binder twine. A vote of condolence with the family of the late Mr J. Inglis, formerly president of the Chamber, was also passed.
