LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Friday. The Council met at 2 30 p.m. Several reports from the Native Affairs Committee and Joint Library Committee were ordered to be printed. The Native Lands Alienation Restriction Bill was considered in committee, and ordered to be reported later in the sitting. The Railways Authorisation Bill was read a second time on the motion of the Colonial Secretary without discussion.
The Special Powers and Contracts Bill was considered in committee, and was still in committee when the Council adjourned at 5 o'clock. :•'•■;£ Saturday. In the Couucil this afternoon the Railways Authorisation Bill was read a second time and passed through committee. The Native Lands Alienation Restriction Bill was reported, read a third time, and passed.
