RACING.
CnnisTCUUßcn, This day. Rain fell heavily all last night, *nd the weather was so unpropitious this morning that training operations were practically suspended. Nelson.and Wapiti were the only horses on the course, they covered between three and four miles'in clothing at a steady pace. The Hon. George McLean's team arrived all well on Monday night, as also Mr -Alexander's four horses. Stewart Wardell arrived last night with Taiaron, and Billy. The only alteration in last night's betting was the acceptance of 200 to 16 on Johnny Faulkner for the New Zealand Cup, but Sou'wester was backed at 100 to 10, and advanced to 100 to 14. Nelson was firm at 100 to 15, and Trenton was befriended at 100 to 5 for the Derby. 100 to 20 "bar one" was offered and 75 to 40 on the field. ______
