Dr. Leggatt, Capt. of the Artillery, while engaged ?n superintending a firing company at the rifle butts this morning, was shot through the palm of his left hand, through the accidental discharge of a carbine. The injuries received were of such a nature that amputation at the wrist was found necessary.
