GOOD WORKS BY THE SALVATION ARMY.
Auckland, This day. The Salvation Army have rented a large house in Queen street of ten rooms, which they are going to rent as a casual ward for persons who are shelterless and supperless at night, also for giving lodging to discharged prisoners for a few nights till they can get honest labor again. Captain Burford last week relieved about fifty people, the Annv giving a collection of £5 lust Sunday to defray expenses.
