THE LIBERAL ASSOCIATION AND MR McANENY.

[To the Editor ov mie Daily Telf',- .--• t &__,-_?« Mr McAneny's molt of remarkable effusions in yp - ' cmaikable issue, I can only say that dr laSt 2 our Association is at pe-„ of tire at any time. M- .^f fc liberty to refit publicly to j-" .-McAneny has thought brethren, and r Mtq from hls erstwhile Napier Li*- x can assure him that the cordially Reform Association most tell M j accepts his resignation. Shall I v _r McAneny that everything done by j Association has been decided by the' majority ? The local press has been excludedfrom our counsels. True, but solely- on account that they do not (or a section of them) does not, or never did, give a truthful report of anything to which they arc opposed. Shall I tell Mr McAneny that all monies are A r oted by the majority, and all motions have been agreed _n a similar manner ? The Association aro of opinion that "unity is strength," and that any member Avho is unwilling to abide by the decision of tho majority should most certainly retire, rather than breed internal dissension. If my friend Mr McAneny, had the cause of " True Liberalism at heart he would not have attempted to injure our Association the way he has- -an Association that has been started under the very greatest difficulties, and carried on amidst misrepresentations, revilings and abuse. Nevertheless, we do not despair, for I think for every McAneny that leaves our ranks scores will join—must join,—for is not ourmotivo "Progress and* justice, to all, not the favored few." Wo are young, but Aye are confident, for truth must and always has prevailed. In conclusion, might I say to all that are in sympathy Avith our cause— which is their cause—that they should at once become members, so that aa-c maw ail bo able to pull together for tho purpose of causing real liberal measures to become the j law of the laud. Shall I say my many brethren—■ I To come forth from the valley, come forth from the hill, I Come forth from the Avorkshop, the mine, and Ihe mill,

Come youths in your vigor, come men in your prime, Come age Avith experience gathered from time, Come Avorkers you're welcome, come thinkers you must Come thick as the clouds in the midsummer dust, There's words to be spoken—aye, there's deeds to bo done, Truth to be uttered, a cause to be won. Yes, it is to be hoped that every member, or Avould-be member, will sink little private animosities and dislikes, so that each and all of us may stand shoulder to shoulder and struggle for a common cause, the benefit of all as against the favored few—for brethren together avo stand, but divided Aye fall. Thanking you, Sir, for your indulgence to myself'in thus trespassing on your valuable space, —I am, Sec, John P. Wato, Hon. Sec. N.L.R.A.
