The brethren of tho Victoria Lodge of Freemasons hold their regular monthly meeting in tho Masonic Hall, Munroc street, at 7.30 this evening. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles, Petane Cup Handicap, Prince of Wales Handicap, and Ladies' Bracelet, to be run at the Petane races next month, close with Mr L. De Pelichet at the Petane Hotel at 8 o'clock to-night. Nominations for tho HaAA'ko'sßay Guineas of 1886 close Avith tho secretary of the Jockey Club, Mr Luckie, at the Criterion Plotel, at 8 o'clock to-night. Messrs Hoadley and Co. sell by auction at their Napier wool stores, at 2 p.m. tomorrow, the Glengarry property, iv five subdivisions. Messrs Banner and Liddle's next sale of skins, hides, talloAV, etc., Avill take place at their Spit stores to-morrow. Persons having claims against tho estate of the late Robert McLachlan arc requested to forward them to the Public Trustee or Mr Scully on or before to-morrow. Accounts owing to Mr Ebbett not paid by to-morrow will bo sued for. Mr and Mrs Hart give a special performance for tho benefit of the projected Clive Square improvements at the Theatre Royal|on Thursday evening. Mr M. R. Miller Avill sell at. Beccroft's yards, Hastings, on Friday next, well-bred cattle, bulls, and draught stock. Mr Margohouth holds an auction sale of insurance and mining shares, tAveeds, drapery, and fancy goods at the City mart on Friday. Mr H. C. Wilson, dentist, pays WaipaAva a professional visit on the Kith and 17th December. Mr Robert Dobson has taken out _an auctioneer's license for the period ending 25th April, 1885. Mr J. M. Macdonald has the Clydesdale colt Chancellor for sale. Mr Margoliouth has tea, sugar, cheese, potatoes, oats, Avheat, barley, soaps, jam, and confectionery for sale privately. The H.B. County Council invite tenders for the construction of 2 miles 42 chains of roads near Marshall's crossing, Pohui road. Mr J. M. Macdonald wants tenders for filling in a quarter-acre toAvn section. The horse Young Barber will stand this season at Ryan's Hotel, Taradale. Messrs R. Hannah and Co. have definitely fixed the date of removal to their new premises opposite the Post Office for Thursday, October lGth. Special bargains are on offer up to that date to clear before removal. Holidays, holidays.—Mr. R. H.
