Nelson, This day. A heavy rain storm, accompanied by thunder and lightning , , passed over this city and the streets were Hooded. Streams of water several inches deep were running , through the houses. It has been the heaviest storm known for years past. Dunedin, This day. Very heavy rain prevailed on Saturday, and floods were threatened. The rain ceased, however, at nightfall. Both exress trains were detained—the North one for half an hour, and the South train for an hour and a half.
