LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Friday. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. LEAVE OF ABSENCE. A message wxs received from the Governor, intimating that he had granted leave of absence for the remainder of the session to Mr Peter. PASSAGE OF BILLS. The Timaru Market Reserves Bill, the Dunedin Leasing Powers Bill, the Wellington Harbor Board Bill, and the Invercargill Lease Empowering Bill were received from the Lower House, and read a first time. The Perpetual Trustees and Executors Bill and the Auckland College and Grammar School Bill were read a second time. Tho Pensions Bill passed through committee without amendment, and was read a third time. An Imprest Supply Bill was received from the other chamber, and passed through all its stages. Mr M'Lean moved the second reading of the Otago Harbor Board Empowering Bill, but the debate was adjourned. The Council adjourned at 4.50.
