PORT OF NAPIER

DEPARTURES. September 25—Thomas Russell, s.s., for Auckland. 26—Eliza Firth, brigantine, for Greymouth

The s.s. Thomas Russell, Capt. Helander, took in a part cargo of .sheep yesterday afternoon, and between G and 7 o'clock last night took her departure for Auckland direct.

The Union Company's p.s. Southern Cross is telegraphed as having left Wellington at 5 o'clock last night for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland, and should reach this port this evening. She will work cargo inside to-morrow, and at noon is announced to steam on her course. Tho brigantine Eliza Firth, Capt. Felix Black, sailed in ballast at about 6.30 a.m. this day for Grey mouth. The Union Company's s.s. Rotomahana left Auckland for Gisborno and Napier at 12.30 p.m. yesterday, and is due in the roadstead at daylight to-morrow. After being tendered in the bay for mails, passengers, and cargo, she is announced to steam for Southern ports, Hobart and Melbourne at 2 p.m. The s.s. Kiwi, hence on Wednesday night, arrived at Wellington at 10 o'clock this morning, and is announced to steam again for the coast and Napier to-morrow evening. Tho s.s. Wairoa is telegraphed as having left Wairoa at 8.30 a.m. this day, and should arrive in port early this afternoon. The Union Company's s.s. Tarawera leaves Wellington this evening, being due here to-morrow forenoon. Tho advertised time for the launch to leave the wharf with her outward passengers for Gisborno and Auckland is i> p.m.
