NEWS FROM GENERAL GORDON AT KHARTOUM.
SYDNEY MUNICIPAL LOAN FLOATED. (Received September 18, 1.30 p.m.) CAIRO. September 17. A despatch from General Gordon, dated Khartoum, August 26, has been received hero by telegraph from the Nubian frontier. General Gordon states that he is Avaiting the arrival of British troops in the Soudan, and again requests that Zebebr Pasha may he sent to him and £300,000 sterling. General Gordon also announced that he commands the road from Khartoum to Berber, and that he intends to depatch a force to occupy the latter place iv a feAV days from the date of his despatch.
