MOTICE is hereby given that it is tho intention of the Maraekakaho Road Board to take certain lands hereinafter particularly described for the purpose of constructing- a road, and all persons affected are hereby requested to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to tho extension of such work, or the taking of such lands, and to send such writing within forty days from the date of publication hereof to the Chairman of the Maraekakaho Road Board. And notice is further given that the plans of the said land and works are open for inspection at the Public Hall, Maraekakaho. At the same time every facility will be given to opponents to express their views in the corresponelence columns, even though those views may bo antagonistic to tho policy of the Paper, or to those of its Liberal supporters. Whilst the Paper will claim its right to discuss every public matter upon colonial grounds, it will nevertheless be found a staunch advocate of the Napier Breakwater, and of all other genuine local interests. The canvass already made justifies the Directors in the belief that tho Paper will become a large Advertising Medium, and special facilities will be given on liberal terms to Advertisers. The Paper will be an Evening Paper, and a Special Country Edition will bo issued each clay in time to catch the Evening Train. The proposed Capital of tho Company, as shown above, is £10,000 in 10,000 shares of £1 each. This amount it is prorioscd to call up as follows, viz., 2s Gd per share on application, and 2s Gd per share on allotment. It is anticipated that no further call will be required, but. power will be taken in tho Articles of Association to enable the Directors to Call up further Capital at intervals of three months, at the rate of 2s Gd per share, should such be necessary. The Directors reserve to themselves the right of accepting or refusing any application for shares, and of determining the number of shares to be allotted upon each application, Applications for Shares to be sent in not later than the 30th inst, and addressed to the Hon. Secretary at the office of Mr. ' L. Moore, Shakespeare road, Napier.
