One ton of quartz from the Moa Creek Gold Mining Company, tested at the Thames, yielded 2 ozs. 14 dwts., valued at "£3 Vis 6d per ounce. The report concluded that it "was quite a treat to see such a fine sample of gold, as the average of ours (Golden Crown Company, Thames) is worth only 52s to 555." _.. . / J Ross, This day. The working manager of the United Goldmining Company has caused some excitement by exhibiting a dish containing about 35 ounces of gold, the result of the company's partial washing up. Ihe trial battery at Cedar Creek reefs is finished, anil a trial crushing will shortly be made.
