The annual meeting of thoPotano Jockey Club will bo held at Villors' Hotel, at 7 o'clock this evening. Tlie secretary of the Evening' Times Company will bo in attendance at the office of the company, Shakespeare-road, from G to 9 o'clock this evening, to receive applications for shares. Tenders for filling up drain and forming footpath at Hastings will be received by the Hastings Town Board up to noon on Monday. Nominations for a Synodsman for the electoral district of Woodville in the Synod of the Diocese of Waiapu must be delivered to Mr J. B. Fielder by Monday. The partnership existing between Messrs Lee and fcheath as barristers and solicitors has been dissolved. Mr A. W. L. Cottrcll, hairdresser, will have two chairs in full swing to-night. Fisher's Burlesque and Pantomime Company perform at Taradale on Monday evening. The tliiid term of the Girls' High School commences on Tuesday next. Mr Lyndon holds an auction sale of furniture, clothing, and drapery on Tuesday next. Mr Margoliouth holds a sale of new and second-hand furniture on Thursday next. Mr A. Waddell has withdrawn from the contest for the election of a councillor for the North Ward in favor of Mr Tom Watcnvorth. Mr T. Waterworth issues an address to the burgesses of the North Ward, and Mr J. W. McDoim-all one to the ratepayers of the Central Ward. A gold brooch lias been lost, and finder will be rewarded on returning same to Criterion Hotel. Jacob Faithful wants everybody to speculate in his consultation. Mr G. Plested, Spit, has pure-bred Dorking eggs for sale. An advertiser has board and residence for two gentlemen in a private family near the Post Otlico. J.R.L., office of this paper, wants furnished apartments or a four-roomed furnished cottage. Mr Chissell has eggs, poultry, smoked fish, fresh oysters, vegetables, fruit, and groceries. Mr E. Tuko has two properties on the new Taradale road for lease for a term of years. Mr E. Ashton, Occidental Hotel, has imported a consignment of good lager beer, which he is now selling. Another special prize is added to the list to be awarded at the forthcoming show of the A. and P. Society. Messrs Blythc and Co. have new goods in all departments at competition prices. Mr H. Williams manufactures at exceedingly low prices portable copper furnace boilers, colonial ovens, and all kinds of tinware and wirework. Messrs Hardy and Sidey have opened up a shipment of table and dessert knives and electro-plated and nickel silver forks and spoons. For sale cheap. Inspection invited.
