The time for receiving tenders for the erection of a five-roomed cottage at Hastings expires to-morrow. Mr. F. Cook lectures on " Shadows of London " in the Protestant Hall on Sunday evening. Patronage of Freethinkers solicited. Accounts due for supplies to the Board of Health during quarantine must bo forwarded in duplicate to tho Town Clerk by noon on Monday. The quarterly meeting of Court Sir Charles Napier, A.0.F., is convened for Monday evening at tho usual place. A lecture on " Chinese Gordon," and a concert by the choir of Trinity Church, will be given in St. lohn's school-room on Tuesday evening next. Major Routledge issues the Volunteer district orders for September. Mr Collinge will attend at Oddfellows' Hall, Taradale, on Tuesday next, for last time, to receive rates due to Meanee Road Board. Mr M R. Miller holds a cattle and horse sale at Beecroft's yards, Hastings, on AVednesday next. Messrs Monteith and Co. announce their annual sale of stock, exhibits, kc, in connection with tbe A. and P. Society's Show in October. Messrs Monteith and Co. amend their list of properties for sale. The annual meeting of the Petane Jockey Club will be held on Saturday, 6th proximo, at Villers' Hotel. Mr R. G. Graham wants to sell a fiveroomed house on the hills. The Hastings Town Board invite tenders for metalling portion of the Havelock and Omahu road.
