FIRES.
Auckland, This day.
A fire broke out in Hear'B grocery at 4 o'clock this morning, and did £500 worth of damage before it was suppressed. The insurance is £550 on the stock and £50 on the fittings in the Union office. No damage was done to the building. Dunedin, This day. By a fire at Arrowtown on Wednesday night, a cottage, the property of Mr James Cameron, was destroyed. It was insured for £150 in the South British office Invercaroill, This day. Mr Donnehay's general store, Wynborn, was destroyed by fire early yesterday morning. The fire is supposed to have originated by the over-heating of the stove. The insurances are £150 on the building in the South British office, and £350 on the stock, divided between the Equitable and Standard offices. The building and stock are valued at £ 1,150. By a fire in the sitting room of the Aparima Hotel, Riverton, at 3 a m. yesterday, a quantity of furniture, including a piano, was destroyed. Some damage was also done to the building.
