It would seem from our Christchurch telegram that tho "Vice-President of the Working Men's Political Association at Napier" has not made a very successful political debut at the Cathedral City. The political meeting to advocate Sir George Grey's claims to a seat in the Ministry defeated the resolution, and treated in an equally summary manner the proposal that delegates should be sent to the centres of population to assert the rights of the people. There is a thick substratum of common sense to be found in Christchurch that no frothy rhodomontade can.disturb.'
