Prospectus. PROSPECTUS OF A NEW EVENING NEWSPAPER COMPANY, LIMITED. CAPITAL £10,000 In 10,000 Shares of 20seach. Bankers: The Bank of New South Wales. It has long been contemplated to issue a respectable, honest, and impartial EveningPaper in Napier, that shall do more than battle for and represent one class, and unscrupulously misrepresent all other classes —a newspaper that shall be more than one in name only, and one Avhich, while Liberal in Policy, shall be independent of any clique ; fearless of any pressure from vested interests, and impartial in its criticisms of men aud measures Avhere the public welfare is concerned. That such a Newspaper is needed requires no proof. Were any evidence of tho fact required it would be found in the spontaniety with which a great portion of the funds necessary to establish such a NeAvspaper have been subscribed, for, in answer to an advertisement inserted a feAV times in the Hawke's Bay Herald, over £4000 were subscribed by gentlemen in tho town—old residents—possessing a substantial stake in the province. Of the full nominal capital of £10,000, 5s per share will provide amply sufficient funds to issue an Evening Paper equal to any in Noav Zealand. The indirect advantage to the community arising from the publication of a veracious, independent, and liberal Newspaper can hardly be over-rated—a paper Avhich will represent tho interests of the largest number, and Avill fearlessly attack vested Avrongs —an organ which -will represent the vicAvs~of tho progressive part of the community, Avhich Avill avert revolution by aiding 1 in bringing about timely and necessary reforms. The Share Capital will be called up as follows, viz. :-- 2s Gd per share on application, and 2s Gd per share on allotment. No further call will be required. It is believed a dividend of at least 20 percent, per annum Avill be paid on the paidup share capital, and that the 2>roperty will steadily augment in value.
