The Hunt Club steeplechase meeting took place yesterday in magnificent weather. The attendance was very fair, numbering about one thousand spectators. The proceeding's commenced with the Hunt Club Cup of 50 soys., 1\ miles.— J. Bond's Victor, list (Mr Newton), 1 ; J. Kerr's Linwood, 12st 71b, (Mr Piper) 2 ; J. Carmicbaell's Kate Coventry, list 121b, 3. Woodstock, Cammy, and Cardinal also ran. It was a grand race, all the horses keeping together throughout. After a splendid race for the last half mile Victor won by a length from Linwood, Kate Coventry a good third. Tally-ho Plate.—Mr Cotton's Billy Davis 1, Mr Campbell's Madge 2, Mr Parker's Captain 3. Open Handicap.—King Arthur 1, , Barbary 2, Agent 3. Hunters' Flat.—Mr Bond's Victor 1, Mr Palariette's Shamrock 2, Mr Woodman's Waniona 3. • Consolation.—Linwood 1, Madge 2, Melbourne 3. In the Tally-Ho race Winficld, Mr A. G. Rhodes' horse, came down, throwing his rider, G. O'Connell, and rolling on him, but breaking no bones. O'Connell recovered consciousness last night, and appears to be progressing , favorably.
