The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage ancl Agency Company of NeAV Zealand reports of the local grain market as follows:—Wheat, 4/- to market firmer; malting barley is neglected at 3/9 to 4/G; New Zealand oats, feeding sorts 2/10 to 3/1 Avith prices barely maintained, milling sorts, 3/2 to 3/3 and market weaker ; New Zealand oats, under bond, 2/2 to 2/5. The same company report the sale of a caro-o of kauri timber at the folloAving average prices:—At per 100 feet super: hewn logs, 13/- to 14/6, with firm ancl active demand experienced; sawn flitches in fate demand at 15/- to 16/- ; tongued and grooved flooring, market is quiet and ii favour of buyers

Consols have advanced to 100-J. " - ; The Avheat market is advancing. Adelaide, ex-store, is now quoted at 41/-, and New Zealand ditto at 34/- to 11/-; Adelaide flour, ex-Avarehouse, 28/-. Australian tallow, average quality, beef 34/G, and mutton 35/-.
