Consols remain at 100g-, and New Zealand securities at tho following quotations:—Five per cent. 10-40 loan, 104; five per cent. 1889 loan, 103_ ; four ancl a half per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 103; four per cent, inscribed stock, 100£. Tho total reserve in the Bank of England in notes and bullion has risen to £14,600,000 an increase of £300,000 during the week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities has advanced 1 per cent, and is no 45 per cent. Tho bank rate of discount remains at 2 por cent, and tho market rate at 1-J-. The wheat market is unchanged. Adelaide, ex-store, 40/6; New Zealand ditto, 34/- to 40/(5; Adelaide flour, ex-store, 28/-. v . , Australian tallow, average quality, beef 35/6, ditto mutton 35/6 Pig iron, No. 1, f.o.b. in Clyde, remains at 45/- per ton. Galvanised iron has further fallen £1 per ton. Gospel oak corrugated, packed in cases f.o.b. in London, is now quoted at £17
