Arrangements are being made for the founding of a Belgian colony in New Zealand, ancl tho sum of 50,000 francs has already been subscribed to defray the expenses in connection thercAvith. A person of experience will start at an early date for New Zealand to make enquiries Avith the view of establishing the settlement and making the necessary arrangement with the colonial authorities.
