WASTE LANDS BOARD.

The Board met at 11 a.m. to-day. Present: Messrs Harding, Sutton, Wellwood, and the Commissioner. ■

'- From Mr George Wratt, chairman of the Danevirke Domain Board, stating that Mr Johansen would not be disturbed in tho occupation of the Recreation Reserve during tho term of his license.—Received. From Mr Taylor White, stating that he was about to survey the Glengarie property for the purposes of tho Land Transfer Act, and requestirig the Board to inform him whether ha would .be allowed to purchase any surplus' area on the completion of tho Burvey.—lt was decided to allow Mr White to amend the applications for the purchase of lands. Avhim have, not been Crown granted, so as to include the ravines and gullies on the Mangaone frontage.- ,_ . From Mrs Hans Andersen, applying to purchase" two sections-in the village of Noraewood.—lt was decided to inform Mrs Anderson that th« village of Norsewciod would bo re-surveyed Avith a view to having it proclaimed and sold as a village settlement..',; ~ >. ■.. ■■

From Mr Daniel Kemp, selector of section 4, Block IX., Tahoraite- district, applying to. capitalise his future payments under the provisions of the Land Act, > 1882.—1t was decided.to inform Mr Kemp that a selector Could not under the Act capitalise until he had-complied with all tho conditions of his license-for a period of three years from tho date thereof,- and that the Board could not receive his application until he had been in Occupation flf his selection for three years.

From Mr E. Harding, asking permission to cut in the Puketitiri bush ten-matartrees to be used for fencing posts.—He could take the trees for a payment of ten shillings each.

MISCEL-ANEOUS

In the matter of Mrs Caldwell's application to lease the piece of CroAvn lands at the old bridge sito over the Muddy Creek on the old road to Clive, the surveyor's plan of the land shows there are 3a. lr. 36p. between the road and the river bank.—lt was decided to sell the land at the next auction sale at the upset price of £8 per acre. An application from Mr Albert Gilbert to transfer his interest in deferred payment section 16, Block XIII., Tahoraite survey district, to George Gilbert was approved. It was decided to offer for sale at the next auction sale sections 1, 3, and 6, of Block XIV., Tahoraite survey district. A number of applications to pmchase lands for cash were approved. Licenses were ordered to be issued to a number of selectors on deferred payment lands.

The Board then adjourned.
