UNION INSURANCE COMPANY.
Christchurch, This day. The balance-sheet of the Union Insurance Company shows a credit balance of £12,356 5s 4d, out of which the directors propose to pay the usual dividend of 10 por cent., absorbing £10,000, leaving a balance of £2356 5s 4d to be carried forward to next year. The report states that both the fire and marine losses were exceptionally heavy during the year. The premiums received amounted' to £176,395, an increase of £43,500 the previous year.
