ELECTION NOTICE. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE ELECTORAL DISTRICT of WAIPAWA. /~1 ENTLEMEN,—Tho time has now arrived for me to announce that I have much pleasure in acceding to the numerous requests I have received from all classes in all parts of your district to offer myself as a Candidate at the coming Election, and at the proper time I shall explain to you my views on the important questions of the day. I may add that I have, in common with yourselves, an interest in tha general progress of the district, as I hold property in it. I lived for many years in tho neighborhood of Waipawa, and represented tho district in the late Provincial Council, and I am well acquainted with all its requirements, and while my chief concern will be the iuterosts of tho colony as a whole, I shall do my utmost for the interests of the district if I am elected to represent it. I am, &c, T. TANNER. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE NORTHERN, EASTERN, AND WESTERN MAORI ELECTORAL DISTRICTS. TjIELLOW COUNTRYMEN,—It is my intention to offer myself as a Candidate for the three Maori Electoral Districts of this Island at the forthcoming General Elections, My reasons for taking this course aro :— First—Because of the way in which the Returning and Deputy Returning Officers conducted the last election for a member for the Northern Maori District. On that occasion there were no less than seven of my polling places closed to me, especially that at Ohaeawai, which [was not opened till 11 a.m., contrary to tho provisions of the law made and provided on that behalf. SECONDLY —Becauso by'standing for all three electorates I may in one of the three have fair play, and stand a chance of being elected. My motto being "Nothing venture nothing have." TBIEDI/Y—Because I have been four times put up as a Candidate for the Northern Electoral District, but I had no chance of being elected through what I believe to have been the action of the Returning and Deputy Returning Officers as mentioned above. I have to thank those chiefs and tribes of Takapau, Waipawa, Hawko's Bay, Mohaka, Wairoa, Whakaki, Nuhaka, and Mahia who have promised to support my election. - -. =■ S. D. TAIWHANGA.
