Passengers—Miss Brathwaite, Messrs Brown, Kettle, and some others. -i* The Union Company's s.s. Southern Cross, from Auckland and Gisborne, is due here tho first thing to-morrow morning, and after discharging inside is announced to steam from the wharf for Wellington at Messrs Shaw Savill and the Albion Company's ship Northumberland, Captain R. Todd, got under way about 2 o'clock this morning with the first of the land breeze, and by daylight had made a good offing. We wish Captam Todd his officers and passengers bon voyage. The fore-and-aft schooner Columbia, Captain Conway, anchored in the roadstead last" evening after an eight days passage from Auckland against variable southerly weather. She was brought inside at noon to-day and berthed at the breastwork, where she will discharge her cargo _ of drain pipes, consigned to Mr J. H. Vautier. The three-masted schooner Mary Wadley, Captain was to-wed into the roadStead last evening by tho Boojum, and at 2 o'clock this morning sailed for Greymouth in ballast. The s.s. Wairoa, Capt. Anderson, returned from Mahia at about 1.30 a.m. this day, lay in the roadstead until daylight, and then went alongside the ship Waiuiea and transhipped 59 casks of whale oil. She is now loading up for Wairoa, and is to steam hence at 9 o'clock to-morrow morning. The launch Bella, Capt. Green, steamed for Wairoa and Mohaka at 7.30 a.m. this day, taking cargo and passengers. The s.s. Kiwi, Capt. James Campbell, arrived at the anchorage from Wellington at 2 o'clock this morning, and was berthed inside by the pilot at 4 a.m. She reports leaving Wellington at 8.30 p.m. on Monday, arrived at Castle Point at 9.30 a.m. next clay, landed 30 tons and left at 4 p.m., reached Turnagain at 8.30 p.m., landed 50 tons next clay and embarked some passengers, and left at 4.45 p.m., arriving here as'above. She brought 90 tons of cargo for hero, which was discharged during the day at the breastwork, and at 4 o'clock this afternoon she is to leave again for Wellington. The Union Company's s.s. Waikora was to have left Auckland at noon to-day, being due here at daylight on Saturday morning. The brigantine Enterprise was expected to sail for Dunedin at 4 p.m. this day, taking 209 railway sleepers aud 5 tons of horseshoes. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Reuters Telegrams.)
