Waterhousc, on the subject of the demand made for the rent / due on 31st ultimo, 1884, on license No. 4, and telegrams from the Under-Secretary on the same subject—lt was decided to advertise the forfeiture of license No. 4, 19,600 acres, in the Kaweka and Kuripapanga districts, and to take a legal opinion lon the subject of the recovery of the back rent. . "Prom Mr G. Brown, asking the Board to .dispense with residence till after the burning off season on the small farm allotments at Danevirke. —It was decided to give the selectors ,of the ■ small farm allotments at Danevirke which are covered with bush permission dispensing -with personal resi- : dence for the first year from the date of , license. - From A.. M. Miller, of Danevirke, applying to lease section 18, Danevirke. —It was decided to inform Mr Miller that the Board did not consider it advisable to deal with this section at present, but that it will probably be placed in the market for sale •when the next blocks of Crown lands in the Umataowa block is officer. From the Chairman of the Waipawa County Council, requesting that a portion of section 12, Block IX . Takapau survey district, may be reserved for road purposes. —It was decided to reserve from sale out of section 12. a strip of land along the banks of the Makatoku stream. '• ■'■ From Mr Johanseri, asking for an extension of his license to cut timber on section 12,"Danevirke, from the 14th August, ISB4, to the 14th February, 1885. The Board •will not interfere without giving a month's v. notice. From Mr J. Hebberly, requesting that the unsold sections in the township of Tarawera may be put up for sale. —Decided to offer -the unsold sections in the township of Tarawera at the next auction sale of Crown lands.
